Sri Lanka – Hiking up little Adams Peak

Little Adams Peak was recommended to us from a few people for it’s amazing views, easy hike and accessible from town . Hiking up Little Adams Peak is around 30-45 min and definitely easier as his big brother the Adam’s Peak with around 5-6 Hours and lots and lots of stairs. Also we heard if you are unlucky Adam’s peak is often in the clouds and the view is only good if you are there early. I can’t say if this is true or not but for us this was an argument to go for the little one.

The beginning of the hike is just a nice stroll along some beautiful tea plantations and there are some little stalls where you can buy coconut water and fresh juices. After a while of walking the way get’s just slightly steeper and the last bit are steps, we stopped counting at around 250 and I would guess there must be around 300-400 in total. It’s easily manageable if you go in the afternoon to see the sunset and avoid the humidity. As i said, the walk is also accessible from Ella town, so there is no need for a scooter or taxi. Compared to the 5 hour walk to Adams peak this is a delight and the view is well worth it.
